This study investigates the impact of digital transformation (DT) on economic growth in post- pandemic India. It examines the relationship between DT and economic growth, current levels of
DT across sectors, key drivers and barriers, and the effects on productivity, innovation, and competitiveness. Using a mixed-methods approach with quantitative and qualitative data from 21
businesses across different sectors in India, the findings reveal significant links between DT
readiness and factors like employee engagement, budget allocation, awareness, and digital tool
integration. Higher DT readiness is associated with improved competitiveness, lower employee
resistance, and better adoption of digital technologies, highlighting the importance of these
factors in successful digital transformation initiatives.
