About the author

Dimitris Papadopoulos was born in Greece. He trained as a professional artist at the Royal Academie of Fine Arts of Brussels and at the superior institute of arts and architecture "St-Luc" and went on to win a number of awards in Europe for his work. Dimitris has practiced several martial arts, including Muay thai boxing, wing chung kung fu and Capoeira. His Capoeira training began with instructor Macaco Preto of the group Abadaacute; Capoeira. Soon after beginning his training, he began to sketch at every training session, recording all of the skills he learned as well as those he saw more advanced students performing. He began teaching in 2006 under mestre Sansatilde;o of Mundo Capoeira group and has hosted Capoeira seminars with the support of different teachers and schools as Mundo Capoeira, Dandara Cordao de ouro and Senzala de Santos. In 2008, he published "Caderno de Capoeira" in Greek and, in 2009, he received the cord of graduado from the group Mundo Capoeira. In 2011 he changed groups, returning to Abada Capoeira as graduado. Today he works in an artistic and athletic association that he created in Chania, Greece, called "artes Da Rua" where members practice painting and drawing as well as Capoeira, Brazilian jiu jitsu, juggling, and parkour. His next work will be the organization of jogos de Capoeira in Crete (jogos de verao) for the group Abada Capoeira and a new comic series to promote Capoeira.
