I couldn't help but laugh at every sarcastic remark 12 made. I appreciated the cultural references, including the more subtle ones to past Who adventures. It was clever to tell the story in 1st person POV, but with a kind of unreliable narrator. I enjoyed adding new words to my vocabulary, such as magnanimous, fetid, and abattoir. Speaking of which, for all its lighthearted moments, the story is very dark. Character deaths are to be expected in DW, but this is one story that wouldn't have been televized.

I actually have this book IRL, and it's really good. I love the subtle references to the actual series, such as the "sonic spoon" referencing the Doctor's sonic screwdriver in the show. Overall, if you like Doctor Who, get this book. You'll love it. And if you're into books, get it too. This book can be enjoyed by everyone.
