In her first book, Donna Lee Batty writes in a personal and loving way, leading her readers on a spiritual journey, using vivid and colourful imagery to unveil insights uncommon to the current stream of Christian thought.
The author explores a higher way, rather than starting with good works. This little book enables the reader to firstly know the Lord deeply and intimately.
Donna draws upon her personal experience and the help she has gleaned from many wonderful sources along the way. While the book is aimed at a younger audience it will also encourage and equip readers of any age.
This book offers many practical suggestions for the young believer while unveiling the enormous adventure that now awaits them.
At the time of writing this book, Donna lives with her husband Derek in the city of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.
Although 'giving her heart to Jesus' at the age of 6 in 1973, it wasn't until she was in her early forties that Donna truly began to know the Lord Jesus Christ more deeply by revelation of Him as the All in all. Both Donna and Derek were 'called out', if you will, from religion in the form of institutional/traditional type Church life around 2003 and into what she now best describes as knowing Christ as the most capable Head of His Church, the body of Christ. Together, they enjoy sharing Christ with other believers in an organic and authentic way and are devoted to supporting others in their Christian journey, to know the Lord more deeply, especially in the setting of the local ekklesia.
She has been writing for some years now on her blog, Drawing From The Well.org where she shares the glories of Christ as the living Lord who expresses Himself in and through His people and creation. She writes with a heart for the weary Christian sojourner and with a desire for believers to see the Lord in a much bigger way than ever before. She and Derek also co-host their own podcast on The Ancient Pathways.com.
To her utter delight, Donna confesses she is still getting to know the Lord and claims she will never arrive at the end of Him of-course, His riches being truly unsearchable. The continuing unfolding revelation of Jesus Christ, both humble and astound her and she simply has to share. She says it is like the line in a song from 1970's Christian rock artist, the late Larry Norman, that says, "When you know a wonderful story, you don't let it go unsaid".
This desire is expressed once again in the pages of this, her new title, addressed To the Young Believer.
