About the author

Doug Williams grew up on the poor side of town up in Charleston, West Virginia during the 1950’s and 60’s. As a young boy his mother would on occasion answer his nagging requests with the saying “People in hell want ice water.” There was no ill intent to the remark, it was just a way of saying that you can’t have it just because you want it. Everyone in the neighborhood where Doug grew up was either poor or soon gone away. “I didn’t realize how poor we were.” Having the good fortune to be relatively smart and highly motivated, Doug and all his siblings were able to overcome the challenges they encountered in growing up in an area filled with crime and poverty. He saw friends die along the way. While many of them grew up and went to prison, most grew up to be successful members of society. In college Doug pursued a degree in Psychology and the sciences. He had a real love for business and had his first entrepreneurial experience at age twelve. As an adult Doug pursued his business interests and became a successful entrepreneur and was able to reap many of the benefits provided by the IT boom. His background and studies in psychology led him to his interest in crime and serial killers. His background in life led him to believe in opportunity.
