About this ebook

The intergalactic adventures of Arthur Dent begin in this first volume of the 'trilogy of five', Douglas Adams' comedy sci-fi classic The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

"It's science fiction and it's extremely funny ... inspired lunacy" Washington Post

On 12 October 1979 the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor (and Earth) was made available to humanity - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

It's an ordinary Thursday lunchtime for Arthur Dent until his house gets demolished. The Earth follows shortly afterwards to make way for a new hyperspace bypass and his best friend has just announced that he's an alien. At this moment, they're hurtling through space with nothing but their towels and an innocuous-looking book inscribed with the big, friendly words: DON'T PANIC.

The weekend has only just begun...

Brilliant! The genius of the man will live on forever the so many different things BUT this 1 book out of the 5 book trilogy of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy will be my star at the top of the tree. This series taught me what the meaning of 'loving to read' really was and what it takes to grip your reader over & over again without fail, leaving them always wanting more.....to the point of...in the end...starting at the beginning again (for the 10th time) to read it all again.

The author is dead, the book is three decades old and they want $15 for an eBook copy, the shame!
