About this eBook

Fresh from reenacting a Civil War battle, Kyle Sherman, dressed in his Union uniform, is lost in Yewville, South Carolina. Dixie Lee Smith knows such a man should be treated as the enemy?shunned, or at the very least ignored. But with no Southern gentlemen pounding down her door, Dixie finds herself wondering if maybe the state of their potential "union" should be addressed. And once she discovers there's competition for Kyle, this particular rebel belle stops worrying about which side won the war, determined to win the handsome Yankee for herself.

She's got a battle on her hands for sure. Because Kyle himself might not be so easy to subdue!

About the author

Before she began writing romances, Pamela Browning worked as a newspaper reporter and columnist, and she has also worked in public relations, as well as in the admissions department of a small college. Pamela has written over 40 romances. Her books consistently win high ratings from reviewers, and she has won many national awards. Ms. Browning has been a frequent speaker at Harlequin publicity events and, at the invitation of Mondadori, Harlequin's Italian affiliate, she spoke at a luncheon at the Excelsior Hotel in Rome, Italy. She has been featured on regional television and radio shows, and also teaches courses at writers' conferences when time allows. As for romance in her own life, Pamela Browning can't imagine anything more romantic than the wedding of her daughter in the California wine country. "My daughter and her husband exchanged vows beside a vineyard in a golden valley, the sun sliding slowly below dark green mountain ridges, the air fresh with the fragrance of ripening grapes and rich earth. Add candlelight, roses, a Bach trio, and two people in love -- how much more beautiful can life be?" she says. She has two children, a son and a daughter, and she makes her home in North Carolina. In her spare time, she volunteers as a docent at the local art museum and studies yoga. She invites you to check out her web site at www.pamelabrowning.com.
