यौन-शिक्षा का अर्थ है-प्रत्येक व्यक्ति को-विशेषकर युवक और युवती को यौन- सम्बन्धी प्रत्येक उस आवश्यक बात का ज्ञान प्राप्त हो जिसे ग्रहण कर वह अपने भावी जीवन को सफल समृद्ध एवं सुखमय बना सके ।
स्त्री-पुरुष का परस्पर मिलन ही ‘सैक्स' है । जीवन का मुख्य आधार है उत्पत्ति और सैक्स के बिना उत्पत्ति असंभव है ।
वस्तुतः सैक्स को दाम्पत्य जीवन की नींव कहा जा सकता है इसलिए जीवन की उत्पत्ति सुख और विकास के लिए इसे अनिवार्य मानना होगा । सैक्स के नाम पर संकोच लज्जा भय अथवा घृणा का दृष्टिकोण उचित नहीं ।
