Dreadstar is my favorite work by Starlin, and he's done some of the greatest comics of the last few decades. Vanth Dreadstar was a highlight of Marvel's Epic Illustrated adult fantasy magazine, and remained a fascinating character even when the Dreadstar comic hit newsstands. Heroic, sometimes dark science-fiction adventure from a fertile time for space operas (even existential, mature ones).

An amazing comic. Space Fantasy at it's best. Mature and adventurous with gut-wrenching twists and turns. This ain't Star Wars; there are very serious, mature themes being played out (as Starlin is known for) and basic concepts of philosophy and theology are tested. Enjoy the ride.
