About this ebook

The title of this book came to me one day while I was thinking about what would be a catchy title that people would remember. I remember asking myself what would include everything about why we need to know about credit. A few days later, while I was not thinking about the book, the title came to mind, What's My Credit Got to Do with It? The answer is everything! In our country, without good credit you will pay the highest interest rates, will not be able to get certain jobs, and without low interest rates and without a low-paying job or no job at all, the quality of housing available to you goes down also. You will basically be in credit jail. This title will hopefully make you think about the choices you make when it comes to your finances.

About the author

The author, Duane Lawrence, filed bankruptcy twice in 1986 and 1988. Credit was not discussed in his household when he was a young man. He spent fourteen years in what he describes as credit jail, that is, unable to qualify for anything. The information contained in this book helped him to understand what credit is and how it works. He is not an expert or an attorney. He is a person who made a lot of mistakes that were avoidable had he known the information in this book. Parents, take time to talk to your children about credit, not just debt management. Please share this information with as many people as possible because Lawrence wrote it to help people who want to help themselves, most importantly, to help people avoid the mistakes he made.
