E. W. Olson has spent seventeen years as a soldier and officer in the military, and continues to serve. On his seventh combat tour, his daughters asked, “Daddy, what kind of story are you going to write this time?”
Since he had written years before an impromptu picture book about hunting dragons, clearly he had no choice but to top that short story—with a story about fairies. Putting his unused Indiana University bachelor’s degree to use, he penned this little book.
When he returned home, his wife, Ady, and children Elizabeth, Katherine, and Ben, with the help of their tio Luis, “ordered” him to submit it for publishing.
