This work is a fascinating collection of Early English hero tales written for children. The author attempts to take the little readers on a journey to a Palace of English literature, where he will introduce them to many marvels. He includes enchanting stories about the earliest English hero, Beowulf, all the adventures of the young Welsh boy, Taliesin, the battle of Cuchulain and Ferdiad, who the dishonest Irish Queen Maeve deceived. The author also presents details on how the first great English poet, Cædmon, started writing songs. In addition, the author wrote of the courage of a young shepherd who had become a saint, of the young Prince Alfred who won a book as a reward, of a man who was under a spell whom Marie de France called a Werewolf, and mainly of the wonders which King Arthur's magician, Merlin, worked and many more captivating tales.
