Storm is the first serial I've read and I must say that its brevity and abrupt ending make it quite hard to be patient for Part II. Walters creates a magical world quite different (and less unique) from her YA Norse series but equally vivid; the iconic and descriptive way she portrays her old fashioned pirates really gave me clear visuals of them and their island. I gave it fewer stars, though, because I found the characters a little too frustrating to be pulled into the story. The leading lady, Lexi, is an abnormally responsible teenager who takes her responsibilities to heart, but throughout the story her dedication to them, her maturity, and her fierce independence waver inconsistently. She seems to let the mysterious and inhuman Storm, her self-proclaimed "mate", kidnap her with little to no resistance, making their relationship too disconcertingly Stockholm-like for me to approve of. On the other hand, being a New Adult story, you'll enjoy the romance in this one if you like the steam E.B. Walters heats her adult books with. Fans of romance, fantasy worlds, pirates, and magic should grab this quick read, and prepare for the wait for the continuation of the story...

Ednah got this unbelivable ability to create an amazing and complex reality that sucks you right in and makes you feel instantly connected to the characters. As I got through with the book I was relieving all the emotions myself, battled their enemies and tried to understand the motives behind their decisions from either Storm's and Lexi's point of view. It's totally new world she is creating right there and it's an amazing promise of exciting new series I'm looking forward too.

I simply LOVED this story, from start to finish I was hooked! The storyline is so creative and addictive and the characters are unique and amazing. I was completely riveted throughout, it killed me to put the book down so I could sleep. Storm is just so dreamy and sexy as all hell. I just adored Lexi, she's witty and has got a strong backbone, I loved her exchanges with Storm, I think he did too lol. I loved every minute of this story and I'm going to be sitting on the edge of my seat till I get to read part two. Ednah Walters is a brilliant storyteller. <3
