Seit Ende der 1990er Jahre beschäftigen sich europäische und internationale Organisationen mit der Erinnerung an den Holocaust. Am Beispiel des Straßburger Europarates verdeutlicht Elisabeth Kübler die inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte der Auseinandersetzung mit den nationalsozialistischen Massenverbrechen jenseits nationalstaatlicher Begrenzungen. Der in den Politikwissenschaften und der Europaforschung bislang wenig beachtete Europarat rückt somit in den Mittelpunkt einer umfassenden Untersuchung, die anhand relevanter Publikationen und Interviews mit Politikgestaltern Schlussfolgerungen zum Ort und Status von Holocausterinnerungspolitik im kosmopolitischen Europa ermöglicht.
