Excerpt:
The rest of that day came and went, and my phone didn't so much as make a sound. Tony's suit jacket stayed right where I had left it, folded up neatly on the table. The next day turned out pretty much the same. I spent the whole day lazing about my apartment with Tom, waiting on a phone call from the man who had completely spun me off of my feet two nights before. Nothing, though. Not so much as a text message. I had to check my phone several times throughout the day just to be sure that the battery hadn't died on me, but of course that wasn't the case. Finally, as the sun was starting to set, I became fed up. Honestly, the nerve of this man to just run out like that and then not even call afterwards to explain. I snatched my phone up and went into the recent calls list to find the number that he had dialed me from that morning at the office. I waited patiently as it rang, and then heard that sweet manly voice of his come across the receiver.
"This is Tony."
"Tony. It's Tara. I'm sorry if this is a bad time but..."
"Tara, baby. I'm so sorry I haven't called. There was a work related emergency and a lot of fallout from it that we're still trying to get taken care of."
"What kind of emergency?"
"Well, you know... uh, one of the guys we got driving for us managed to crash one of our trucks into a street light and tear everything up. One truck out of commission can take whole neighborhoods off your grid, you know. It's been a real mess."
"Oh. That's awful." I was relieved to hear him explain it.
"I want to get together with you again real soon though."
"I'd like that too. Um, you left your jacket here."
"Oh yeah. I knew I had forgotten something. Can I stop by tomorrow to pick it up?"
"In the evening, yes. I'll be here."
"That's good. I'll see you tomorrow then."
"Alright, bye."
I hung the phone up and held it against my chest. Thank God that had resolved itself. I was beginning to think that he was ignoring me.

Excerpt:
The past few weeks had turned out to be everything I hoped they would have been. Everything was going perfectly with Tony. The few weird things that had happened during the first few days of our relationship had for the most part proven to be nothing more than a handful of unfortunate flukes – call it a rocky start, if you want to. The important thing, however, was that after those first few days they had never returned and I chalked them up to bad luck.
This was the first week in which I wouldn’t have to drag my sorry ass into that miserable job I had been working for the last few years. Tony had offered to pay for my rent and provide for any other living expenses that I might have, so that I could finally quit my job. I suppose he did this so that he could have a more ready access to me, because, as I soon found out, he liked to come over the majority of the time in the middle of the day. I thought this was strange, but then again, he did hold a demanding position with Capitol Waste Disposal Services, one that required him to be available at all times, and that frequently left him with nothing to do during the day. Besides, not having to go back to that horrible job was nice. Lacie was terribly jealous.
I stretched my arms out until they touched the wall behind my pillow and yawned melodramatically. I rolled over onto my left side so that I could see the digital clock on my nightstand. It was 11:03 A.M. and I had nowhere to be. Such a wonderful feeling. I heard the covers rustling behind me and felt a large hand slide itself around my waist. That wasn’t such a bad feeling either.
Tara has seen the realities of the lifestyle she's chosen to involve herself in first hand and now she must deal with the consequences. Her desire for the handsome and charming Anthony DiSorrento has never been more powerful, however, even when a new face enters the picture.
She quickly finds herself in a position in which she is forced to reconcile her passion with the realities of the world she now lives in.

This is the fourth part of the "My Mafioso Boyfriend" series.

Excerpt:
It was difficult getting on with my morning routine with all that had happened in mind, but I set to it nonetheless. I made breakfast. I fed Tom and changed his litter. I picked up my trash from the day before. The routine stuff was tough, but mechanical enough that I could put myself on autopilot anyway. When I had run out of chores, however, I tried to get on with a painting that I had left off in the middle of, only to find that I couldn’t concentrate on it at all. As I was putting away my brushes in disgust, my cell phone began to ring and vibrate from the night stand by my bed. I slowly made my way across the room and answered it.
“Hello?” I said, my voice hauntingly weary.
“Tara, it’s Sal. Are you doing alright? I told you I would call and check on you.”
“Yes. I’m fine. Thank you.”
“Alright. Good. I just left the hospital a few minutes ago. Tony’s good. He’s stable. The doctors say he’ll be alright.”
“So I can see him?”
“Erm… no.”
“What do you mean no? You said he’s doing better. Why can’t I see him?”
“You just can’t. I already told you this. You can see him when he gets out.”
I hung up the phone and threw it across the room. That was bullshit. He had told me that he loved me and I was starting to think that I felt the same way about him. I was going to see him and no stupid mobster wanna-be lug was going to keep me from doing that. I quickly got dressed and grabbed my purse and then set out immediately towards the hospital.
Tara has trouble coming to grips with the fact she has to share the handsome and charming Anthony DiSorrento. When Tony ends up getting himself in trouble with the mob and having to go into hiding, her wish of having him all to herself may finally come into fruition.
The only problem is that doing so will require them to leave everything behind in an effort to stay one step ahead of the danger.
Will this love affair finally be the end of her?

This is the fifth and final part of the "My Mafioso Boyfriend" series.

Excerpt:
“You packed?” he asked, finally stopping to look me over.
“I’m almost finished.”
“That’s going to have to be good enough. Come on, get your stuff and let’s go.”
“But Tony… what’s going on? You’re scaring me…”
“We’re running off. Me and you, together. Somewhere new. How about somewhere sunny… like Florida. It’ll be just me and you and we can make our own little paradise there.”
My heart and spirits lifted at the words coming out of his mouth. This is what I wanted, after all. Him. All to myself. For the moment it was enough to assuage the panicky feeling that was beginning to creep over me. “I have just a few more things to grab.”
“No, no. Take what you’ve got and let’s go. We can’t be wasting time around here”
Whatever warm and sparkly feelings I was having at the thought of running away and having Tony all to myself for the rest of my life vanished pretty quickly when I picked up on the urgency in his voice again. Something wasn’t right. I made an abrupt little quick nod of the head and ran to my room. I shut the top of the suitcase down onto all of the clothes and random stuff piled into it, putting my weight on top to smash it down until it latched shut again, and then lugged it into the living room where Tony was waiting by the door with his keys in hand.
When I strode up next to him with the weight of the suitcase pulling my arm and shoulders towards the ground he grabbed me by the chin and kissed me long and hard. Before I had time to say anything he was ushering me out the door, and then down the stairwell and out into the street. He threw open the trunk to his black Mercedes – the one he had been driving when I first met him – and took my suitcase from me, hefting it up into the trunk and laying it down on top of his that was already inside.
"Your friend reads the papers, I see..."
Tara is on her way to work one morning when fate (and a little bit of irresponsible driving) brings Anthony DiSorrento into her life.
"Tony" is charming, handsome, and irresistible.
Tara soon finds herself knee-deep in his flashy and seductive lifestyle.
Behind all of the money and glamour, however, lurks a dark secret that could prove to be much more dangerous than heartbreak.

Excerpt:
The entire time he was speaking he never really looked at me. He was still examining both of the cars closely to be certain that no serious damage had been done. I slipped back to my car to get my automobile insurance information out of the glove compartment, and while I was hidden behind the open driver's side door I quickly stretched and flattened out the rumpled outfit I had thrown on for work that morning in my depressed stupor. I combed my hand through my hair a couple times until I realized that it wasn't doing much, checked my teeth in the rear view mirror and then reappeared with my insurance card in hand. This time he looked up at me.
His eyes met mine head on and I froze in place. They were a dreamy dark caramel color, and seemed to be infinitely deep, like dark brown pools that would not come to an end no matter how long you stared into them. I could feel the tiny blonde hairs on my arm prickle up.
And then he smiled.
"I'm Anthony, by the way," he said, extending his thick hand to me.
"T... Tara," I managed to spit out as I reached out to take his hand. His grip was strong and firm, but just gentle enough to clearly be in full control while not imposing on or hurting me. "H... here's my info," I stuttered.
He raised an eyebrow at me, still smiling with those straight white teeth. "Are you alright?"
I managed to regain my composure again. "Yes, yes. Sorry. I'm just a little shaken up from the accident."
"I see. You aren't hurt are you?"
"No, no. I feel fine. Just startled is all."
"Alright, well look. Here's my number." He produced a small business card from the inside pocket of his jacket. "You give me a call if you need anything, but this seems like a pretty straightforward one. The insurance companies should be able to figure it out."
I took the card and glanced at it for a moment before slipping it into my pocket. It read 'Anthony DiSorrento' and said that he was Vice President of Capitol Waste Disposal Services.
"Shouldn't we call the police?" I asked.
He furrowed his brow when I said this. "No. There's no need. You seem like an honest girl. Right?"
