About this eBook

They should have known a battle doesn’t win the war. Now the real trouble begins.

In the aftermath of the battle at Carrow Crossing, Rovann and Maegwin emerge battered but alive—a fact that surprises them both. But as they catch their breath amidst the ruins, they realize the battle was but a precursor to a greater conflict— because the Songmaker’s army is on the move.

As enemies threaten the land from without and traitors threaten it from within, Rovann and Maegwin realize their only hope is to confront the Songmaker himself. After all, to kill a snake you have to cut off the head. They embark on a perilous quest to find the rebel mage’s hidden lair, a journey that will take them far from everything they know and test everything they believe about hemselves.

In a world where loyalty is a fleeting illusion, can they trust even each other? With the stakes higher than ever, their decisions will not only shape their own destinies but also determine the fate of their shattered world.

Fun inventive but the characters come over as a bit dumb to me! They seem a bit robotic and not quite believable. But still a good read.
