I totally related to the opening scene...it made me laugh out loud. Arik and Sage were introduced in the first book of the series, Spring Seduction, but each book is a stand-alone. This story is a short, but fun read with a sweet romance, adorable companions, and some angst and criminal elements thrown in. It was great to get a snippet of Simon and Jade too. An enjoyable and quick read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Funny, sweet and steamy, the second book in this series features Jade, a writer who is damaged from her upbringing and marriage but moved to start over. I loved the way Arik helped Jade be independent as she wants but steps in when he knows she needs his help as a detective. Can’t wait for the next in the series, and as always, it’s a stand-alone but don’t let that stop you reading the rest

I was looking forward to reading this book and I really relished it! Fresh, funny, sizzling-hot, as always, with amiable characters and a touch of mystery and action.
