From one who has lived in Mexico I can tell you Elle did her research. This is book 5 in a series. I have read book 1. I missed 2,3,and 4 . They can each be read as a stand alone but the dynamics of the team and there HEA is something to read and indulge in. I will be going and getting book2,3,4. This one is sort of a friends to lovers, I say sort of because Sophia has always been interested in Blade. Blade has always considered Sophia his friend. When Sophia wins the trip to Cancun, Blade becomes her plus 1 in a "friendship - bodyguard " way. On the plane you just know, know, know that Sophia made a bad decision. The story ramps off an takes off. Was thrilled with seeing how Sophia was no wimp when things started tanking. More than thrilled when we got to see the rest of the team. Although I do have to say I don't think their commander is stupid...so pulling off some of this was....interesting. Thats the word. This is page turner with steam, suspense, smiles and HEA. Enjoy. Thank you Elle James for the arc, I freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions.

We are back in Texas and the men of Delta Force Strong. One by one they have found strong women who have captured their hearts. That is except Blade Calhoun, the playboy of the group. He has no desire to get involved and least of all get married. His past has convinced him that love and HEA don’t exist. Sophia Phillips is not only the group’s favorite bartender at the bar they frequent, but she has also become a friend and has been adopted into the group . Blade is her neighbor and good friend, and also the man she would like a relationship. Since that could destroy their friendship, that’s all she allows herself to be. When Sophia wins a trip to Cancun and her girlfriend can’t make it, Blade is ready for some R & R with his friend Sophia. Close quarters, a run in with the cartel, and a potential kidnapping, suddenly changes everyone’s feelings and belief’s. Will they survive the danger and if so, will Blade risk his heart? This was another entertaining story in the series filled with action, bad guys, hunky good ones and of course, romance. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

What do you get when you combine a womanizer, a bartender, and a trip to Cancun.... You get Breaking Hearts by Elle James. In Book 5 of the Delta Force Strong Series we meet up with two of the most perfect for each other-but clueless towards each other people- "Blade" and Sophia. As a bartender at The Salty Dog Saloon, Sophia has had a silent crush on Delta operator Blade for quite a while, but has not been able to break out of the friend zone he has put her in. She doesn't want to lose her friendship with him. Blade, a self professed womanizer, is possessive towards yet totally unaware about Sophia as a female. It doesn't occur to him that a woman doesn't have to be either just a platonic friend or simply dating material. One of Sophia's friends plays matchmaker a little bit by pulling out of their Cancun trip last minute and "volunteering" Blade to accompany her instead as "protection". What could possibly go wrong? Well, nothing like attracting the attention of the Mexican cartel, some attempted human trafficking, and a little kiss, to make Blade desperately wonder just "..how wrong would it be to fall in love with his next door neighbor?" What started out as two friends going on vacation to Mexico turns into an adventure (with friends old and new) and the possibility of a HEA- if they can survive. Simply fun book. I received an ARC of this book to review.
