This anthology of short stories gave me a chance to visit with authors I have come to love, and introduced me to some new ones. These were two of my favorite stories. FREE REIN by Elle James Mallory Watts has always loved Devin Layne. He left to serve his country and when he got injured in a mission overseas he was sent to Walter Reed. He refused to see anyone and she returned heartbroken. Meanwhile, Devin, a medically discharged former Delta Force member, still loves her, but feels less than a man worthy of her. Will they get a second chance and find their HEA? SECOND CHANCES by Megan Ryder Jessie McAdams, a widow, can barely hold on to her husband’s ranch. Slade Donovan, the man that has loved her for years but is afraid to express his feelings, wants to help her. Will these two find love ? All in all , these are entertaining stories that are perfect when you don’t have time for a full length book. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Cowboys: A Boys Behaving Badly Anthology is a fantastic collection of very, very short stories by different authors. These stories are all cowboy-related and fun reads. I especially enjoyed Free Rein by Elle James and the peek into her Brotherhood Protectors Series. These stories all have 2 things in common...outstanding characters and HEAT. I enjoyed reading Cowboys and would be happy to read more from these authors. These are complete short stories, no cliffhangers. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from Bookfunnel. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re like me and you like something bite-sized when you’re too tired for a whole book, this anthology is just what you’ve been looking for. It’s more than just the right length stories, though; it’s kind of most of my favorite authors in one package, so I knew I’d enjoy wherever I landed. And I can’t resist the Brotherhood, so I went to Elle James’s Free Rein. Elle does damaged vets so well, and wow, this story didn’t disappoint. Actually, the runaway horse was possibly more than I’d bargained for at the hour I was reading, but her writing more than makes up for the adrenaline rush. And from one story, you have to meander to another, you know, just to see if they’re all good, and then, well and then you’re bleary eyed the next day but it is so worth it. Enjoy the stories in this anthology – you get Elle James, Delilah Devlin, Megan Ryder – and if you’re reading this, chances are you like all of them anyway, so this is a tasty morsel to tide you over between releases.
