Dr. Ellen Burns Hurst, an Atlanta, GA, native, holds a Ph.D. in language and literacy. A true pioneer in the field of dyslexia, her passion for working with struggling readers is exemplified by her work as an intervention/reading specialist for 35 years in the public and private sectors. At the heart of this passion is the desire to level the achievement playing field for all children.
