I learned a lot about Martin Luther and the Reformation. The story was engaging and brought in politics, spirituality, humor, everyday subjects such as bathroom experiences, and serious subject like martyrdom. Martin is painted in almost entirely positive light; I think the author was a bit biased. He actually omitted any quotes from Luther of an anti-Semitic nature, though he at least mentions that they exist. In addition, I think the author put in a bit too much of his own commentary in. Overall an informative story about a man who stood for the Bible and God's grace against the imposing force of the Roman Catholic Church.

Great summary of times, also how Luther grew into his place in the Reformation.
