About this ebook

What happens when the proprietress of Siren's Retreat discovers the charming romantic she's been corresponding with is same villain turning her beloved property into a gaming hell? Find out in LOVE LETTERS BY THE SEA!

When not responding to advice column letters, entrepreneurial widow Mrs. Deborah Cartwright runs bright, beautiful Siren’s Retreat, legendary for helping her lovelorn guests find their perfect match. Deborah experienced love years before, and lightning does not strike twice. Although there might be a light flirtation with a certain anonymous letter-writer she’s definitely not falling for, there’s no time for romance. Not whilst a heartless blackguard is in town to wrest her beloved inn out from under her!

Clever, career-minded Mr. Patrick Gretham is the trusted man-of-business for a powerful lord, who is eager to turn this perfectly situated property wasted on lovebirds into a gambling hell the likes of which no one leaves with their fortunes intact. Over Deborah’s dead body! The beautiful proprietress hates everything Patrick stands for and will fight him every step of the way. Except when they find themselves on opposite sides of a plume. Or falling into each other’s embrace…

This was a very fun read. Cuteness and sweetness are nicely balanced with emotion and drama, as Deborah and Patrick's story unfolds. I found these characters lovable and easy to root for. In short, this is the type of romance that is going to simply make you feel good, reaffirm your belief in love and turn your heart to mush. I thought it was great. I am electing to post a forthright review.

LostInLondon and Salt&Sea. I have to say Erica Ridley totally delivered with the final book in the Siren’s Retreat quartet. Contained on the pages are adversaries who are anonymous pen palls. Deborah is a widow, a former opera singer, who knew true love and now helps other couples find joy at her inn. Patrick is a man of business with a huge payout mere weeks away and a dangling carrot to get the deed of Siren’s Retreat so the Earl of Edgemore can turn it into a gambling hell. He’s also LostInLondon. Sweet, charming, a tad angsty (how will it all work out?) and thoroughly satisfying. Well done. Recommend.

A perfect ending to a wonderful series by 2 amazing authors! I loved this book by Ms. Ridley, and laughed out loud at the 2 missus when they were talking about 'moo eyes' and making mooing sounds under their breath, hilarious! I wish the series was longer than 4 books, but this book did finish with a bang. I was given an ARC and I'm voluntarily sharing my honest opinion. It is a stand alone book, but much better if you read the first 3.

About the author

Erica Ridley is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of witty, feel-good historical romance novels, including THE DUKE HEIST, starring the Wild Wynchesters. Why seduce a duke the normal way, when you can accidentally kidnap one in an elaborately planned heist?

In the 12 Dukes of Christmas series, enjoy witty, heartwarming Regency romps nestled in a picturesque snow-covered village. After all, nothing heats up a winter night quite like finding oneself in the arms of a duke!

Two popular series, the Dukes of War and Rogues to Riches, feature roguish peers and dashing war heroes who find love amongst the splendor and madness of Regency England.

When not reading or writing romances, Erica can be found eating couscous in Morocco, zip-lining through rainforests in Central America, or getting hopelessly lost in the middle of Budapest.
