About the author
Ethel Lilian Voynich, geboren 1864 in Irland, studierte Musik in Berlin. 1897 erschien ihr Roman "The Gadfly" (dt. "Die Stechfliege" bzw. "Der Sohn des Kardinals"). Sie lebte ab 1920 in den USA und starb 1960.
