Phillip Rehfeldt is Professor Emeritus {Clarinet and Musicology) at the University of Redlands and Adjunct Professor of Bassoon at California State University, San Bernardino. His performances include the Monday Evening Concerts, International Clarinet Clinic/Symposia, ClariNetwork conferences, ASUC national and regional conferences, the International Computer Music Conference, the Schoenberg Institute, Arcosanti, Scottsdale Arts Center, the 1980 ISCM in Israel, and beginning in 1974 with composer Barney Childs, cancerts and recordings of specially commissioned works under the title "Music for Clarinet and Friend." Other publications include NEW DIRECTIONS FOR CLARINET (1978, 1993). STUDY MATERIALS FOR CLARINET (1987, 1990); THE RENAISSANCE BAND BOOK (1981); MAKING AND ADJUSTING SINGLE REEDS (1983, 1991); and GUIDE TO PLAYING WOODWIND INSTRUMENTS (2012). He has recorded on Advance, Brewster, Cdbaby, CRI, Desto, Grenadilla, New World, Roncorp, Edi Pan, Society of Composers, Leonarda, and Zanja labels. Courses taught range from graduate theory and musicology to to period history-courses, music appreation, freshman seminars, and instrument repair, reed making, and mouthpiece re-facing. He is a certified Sraubinger pad technician. Other teaching positions include Tucson Public Schools, Dist. No. 1 and Northern Michigan University. Degrees are form the University of Arizona (BMusEd, Mount St. Mary's College (MM), and The University of Michigan (DMA).
