Profesor-investigador del Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) y de la EGAP, ITESM, Ciudad de México. Doctor en Economía por la Universidad de Washington, St. Louis. Miembro del Sistema Nacional de Investigadores nivel II. Ha publicado diversos artículos y libros sobre ahorro, sistema financiero, política fiscal y sistemas de pensiones. Es columnista del periódico El Universal.
