About this ebook

Now a Hallmark Channel Original Movie

Lacey Hathaway has it all — a job she loves as a local radio DJ, a home with her adored, eccentric aunt and, best of all, a community after a childhood traveling with her musical parents. So what if her life is a little too safe? Marietta is everything to Lacey. Not only is she helping to organize the Bachelor Bake-Off and filming a documentary about the process, she’s also volunteered her brother as a Bachelor. But, when her brother backs out, Lacey has to find a last-minute replacement. And who better than her aunt’s lodger, gorgeous – if taciturn – Zac Malone?

Zac’s not exactly community-minded. In fact, he makes it clear that the sooner he’s out of Marietta the better. But when Lacey persuades him of the powerful impact the Bake-Off funds will have on local children, he decides to give it a go. On one condition. If he has to learn to bake, so does disaster-in-the-kitchen Lacey. Desserts aren’t the only thing heating up, and as the attraction flares and Zac makes plans to leave, Lacey’s beginning to realize that maybe there is a world beyond Marietta’s borders after all… if she’s brave enough to take that step.

I truly enjoyed reading Baking for Keeps written by Jessica Gilmore, the fourth entry in the Bachelor Bake-Off series. In this story, we meet Lacey Hathaway, local DJ at KMCM and videographer who lives with loving yet eccentric aunts. She loves Marietta as it represents everything she has always wanted after living on the road with her musical parents. Zac Malone ends up staying at the guest house of Lacey’s aunts as he visits Marietta for a work project. Zac is a quiet, keep to himself bachelor. When Lacey’s brother backs out of the Bachelor Bake-Off, Lacey recruits Zac to take his place to help raise the funds that will help the local children. He agrees only if Lacey will also learn with him, from her talented aunts. Both Zac and Lacey learn that maybe who they currently are is not enough as they heat up the kitchen with their baking. My favorite word in this story is discombobulated. Used by both Zac and Lacey regarding how the other affects them. I loved how each character was able to help the other open their eyes, and their mind, to there being other possibilities than the life each was currently living. This story really resonated with me, exemplifying all that a small town should be. This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I am truly looking forward to the next entry in the Bachelor Bake-Off series. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Yet another great story in the Bachelor Bake Off series. Something about guys who know nothing about baking stepping up and competing to raise funds for a great cause just makes me swoon. Lacey and Zac were great main characters. They both have their issues (she really likes to talk - a lot), but they fit so well together and really brought out the best in each other. I loved the depth of Zac's personality and how much we learned about his past and why he was so closed off when he arrived in Marietta. I really enjoyed this story.

Very enjoyable read! I really liked these characters. Lacey with her outgoing easy way and Zac's lone wolf persona are a perfect opposites attract couple. As with the other bachelors Zac is roped into the bake off. Having no skills for baking he definitely needs help and Lacey is the woman to help him. With more than just baking too! This is book 4 of the Bachelor Bake-Off series but each of these can be read standalone. I highly recommend this one.
