Introduced alternative ways to communicate. In this story Julie uses a talking board to communicate with her friends. My son has Autism and is non verbal so this was a great story for him.

I think is important to educate our children and ourselves that even if somebody acts, talks or looks different, we are equal and should respect our differences

Lovely book. I have Autism and can really relate to Julia, especially when she gets upset when she loses Fluffster:(
