In particular, she is introduced to the notorious Sir Francis Dashwood and his Hellfire Club. Even with her new friends, she is not safe from her uncle and she is forced to flee to Charles Town in the New World, where she builds a new life.
An intriguing story, with pirates and a highwayman on the one hand, and on the other, two modern authors working their way through the details of an exciting period in history. Fast moving and good fun, but a tale with some depth.
