About this ebook

She just graduated from the Space Corps Academy.

Her first job: staying alive.

Elfrida Goto was expecting a holiday on Ganymede. Not a vermin hunt.

The colony is plagued by rogue genetically engineered critters, and the newly-minted Space Corps agents are expected to pitch in. Elfrida and her best friend take up the challenge, but the hunt turns into a nightmarish ordeal when they get lost in the subterranean caverns.

And, worst of all … they’re not alone.

In this explosive prequel to the Sol System Renegades series, Elfrida Goto’s first assignment takes her to the underbelly of the solar system, where nice girls finish last.

I finished reading this the same afternoon I began... Starting with what appear to be stereotypical characters I found that is only for an initial impression as the characters gained depth...fast. Mr.Savage definitely includes plot-twisting some of the predictable in unpredictable ways which makes the plausibility and continuity something to keep you wanting more...even after the last page. That the characters are trainees to start...makes the connection to following books straightforward. Unconventional when predictable and entirely plausible characters means you better be prepared for a rollercoaster ride, once the action starts...your already in the middle with brown gooey stuff spraying from high speed rotating plastic without any sedate warning. All of the SF elements are plausiblel and within practical reach of modern science. Harry Harrison's stainless steel rat comes to mind... Without bundling everything into a single character. All of the characters in the trainee squad are potential lead characters... Delivering some great humour and believable independence without completely breaking what makes them an excellent team. Worth the time reading and them some as a first chapter in the larger "Solarian War" story

About the author

Hey, fellow sci-fi nuts! I'm just your average reader who couldn't find enough great science fiction, so I turned to writing it myself. I live in Tokyo and I spend my days at an office participating, with poorly concealed ambivalence, in the preparations for our planet to be taken over by robots.

I'm actually quite optimistic and I love telling stories about the future, because no matter how much technology changes, human beings never do! Even more than that, I love sharing these stories with readers, and that is why I'm offering you a FREE book.
