This will be my last in the Sisterhood series for a while. While I totally understand the need for revenge, the graphic quality of what the group does to the man that killed Myra's daughter just turned my stomach and made me sick. In addition, after the things they have put Jack and his friend through, I find it beyond belief that he would even consider not continuing to try and find a way to stop them. If the books were less graphic, or more about the women finding ways to prove people's guilt or trap them into confessing, I think this would be a far better series. I will continue to read Fern Michaels' Christmas and holiday books. They are so much different than this series. Perhaps I will come back some day and see if the Sisterhood takes a new direction.

The Vigilante, Justice-seeking Sisterhood strikes again. I always look forward to this series of a group of intelligent, strong women fighting against the often male-oriented justice system. This is the 3rd book in the series. The Sisterhood have been wronged by the courts and have formed this group partly for the camaraderie and ability to feel whole and clean again, and partly for dealing out their own justice. They have a lot of assistance in high places. This time out, Myra, whose pregnant daughter was run down in a hit and run and killed by the son of a Chinese ambassador who has diplomatic immunity and therefore can not be charged. The girls of the Sisterhood all have their names in a box and at the end of each delivery of their "justice" another name is drawn.
Some of these deliveries require a strong stomach and this is one of them. However, it is a common enough judgement passed in many countries. But on top of meting out this sentence, the group is under constant surveillance by Nikki's former boyfriend, Jack, who is devoting all his time to try to figure out what he is observing, and catch them at some nefarious deed. When several of the group fly to China he is completely taken by surprise, especially when they return with an elderly Chinese man who appears to be ill.
I like this series, great writing, even though some scenes may be harder to take, but the crimes these people who took advantage of these women for whatever reason have left them destitute, their lives shattered, even causing a long suffering illness that will eventually lead to death in one case. I think because this sort of playing the legal hand by being rich enough to do so happens too often, it makes this series something to look forward to with suppressed enjoyment.

Fern Michael's has always written stories that are easy to read and follow. Her characters are down to earth. I love the Sisters stories. The way they handle each situation with delicacy but great planning and execution makes me want to read more stories and read how everyone is involved to right a wrong. I love her different subjects and genres from her magical to her mysteries. Like Agatha Christie's writings, I can't get enough of her brilliant mind.
