Though not as erotic or full of perverse libertinage as his other stories, this dark, exaggerated slice of life still contains the battle of vice and virtue and moral perversions. Every major taboo is seamlessly stuffed into one short story. I absolutely adore the twist ending. I wasn't expecting that at all. This is why I love de Sade's work.
