Winner of the Benjamin Franklin Award Silver Medal

The C-500 with its revolutionary fly-by-wire technology, had become the freight airframe of choice— until a routine delivery goes horribly wrong

Falling like a stone from six miles up, a brand-new C-500 crashes in central France, killing two pilots aboard. With over one hundred C-500s in service around the world, interest is keen to get to the bottom of the mystery. When French officials take over this highly public investigation, they call in the best there is: they call Frank “ Jammer” Davis.

A retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, Davis is part of the NTSB' s “ go team.” With a reputation for getting things done— and for steamrolling anyone who gets in his way— Davis starts to dig.

But just as Davis starts his investigation, news of the crash is overshadowed by a more spectacular disaster: suicide bombers attack oil refineries across the world, sending governments and financial markets into a tailspin.

A relentless Davis keeps working, but when he finally uncovers the cause of the crash, and its terrifying connection to the terrorist attacks, it is a conspiracy of unthinkable proportions.

A conspiracy he might not be able to stop.

Perfect for fans of Nelson DeMille, Tom Clancy, and Michael Crichton

While all of the novels in the Jammer Davis Series stand on their own and can be read in any order, the publication sequence is:

Fly by Wire
Fly by Night
Passenger 19

The Perfect Assassin was also named an award-winning finalist in the National Best Books 2006 Awards, as well as the 2006 Indie Excellence Awards.

Born and raised in South Florida. Larsen graduated from the University of Central Florida. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served seven years as a pilot in the 95th and 75th Fighter Squadrons. Ward traveled widely across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, and flew 22 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm.

During his time in the Air Force, Larsen received two Air Medals, was trained in aircraft accident investigation, and attended USAF survival training where he learned, among other things, which snakes can be eaten, and how to resist “interrogation under hostile conditions.”  Ward Larsen’s military qualifications and positions include Expert Qualification in Small Arms Marksmanship, Four-ship Flight Lead, Instructor Pilot, Maintenance Test Pilot, and Flight Commander.  Larsen has herded camels using both a jet and an SUV. (He reports that it is far easier with an SUV.)

After leaving the service, Ward returned to Florida. Since 1992, he has flown as a commercial pilot, and is currently a captain with a major airline.

An avid soccer player since his youth, Ward Larsen coaches a competitive soccer team. Ward and his wife Rose met in third grade homeroom. They live in Florida with their three children.
