Among the many honors his books have received are: The International Reading Association Children's Choice Award; Bank Street College Best of the Best; Chicago Public Library Best of the Best; NY Public Library Best Books for Children; ALA Notable; and the Parents' Guide to Media Award. David teaches at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA, where he is a faculty mentor in the Low Residency MFA Program in Creative Writing.
