About this ebook

England, 1819. The Earl of Amhurst has returned to his estate in search of a wife and, more importantly, an heir. Simon Devere isn't interested in some comely, simpering creature. A beautiful woman only brings heartbreak and ruin, and Simon's disfigured visage is proof enough of that. No, he wants a wife who is unattractive and undesirable-and the homelier, the better.

But nothing about Lady Henrietta Beauchamp is homely. She is lovely and sweet... and struggles to mix with polite society when she would so much rather have plants for company. And yet Simon is her only hope for keeping Plumburn Castle in her family's possession. Even if it means marrying a man she doesn't love.

It's an impossible and unlikely match... unless this awkward beauty can bring hope back into a solitary beast's life.

Each book in the Daughters of Amhurst series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.

Two wounded people find the perfect soul mate in each other. The Earl's New Bride is a story of love, betrayal, beauty and pain. I was spellbound by how appealing this story is. A dark cloud of mystery hangs over Simon (The Earl). Bitter, disillusioned and disfigured he does not trust easily. Not willing to make the same mistakes twice he decides he will find a wife that meets his standards. Not a beauty. Henrietta is beautiful inside and out. She has a good heart and smart mind, but her interpersonal skills prove lacking. She keeps to herself due to a speech impediment. Simon is not what Henrietta expects. Henrietta is not what Simon believes he wants. Yet their souls call to each other despite the obstacles. I received an ARC of The Earl's New Bride by Frances Fowlkes in exchange for an honest review. I thought it was an enthralling read of courage and redemption despite the odds.
