Frank is a well-respected UK children’s author and illustrator of over twenty-five years experience. He has written and illustrated over seventy books of his own and illustrated more than thirty by other authors. His books have been published by Penguin, Hodder, Bloomsbury, Scholastic and others and cover the whole primary school age-range - children from three to eleven years old. He has produced picture books, early readers, books for confident readers, novels and non-fiction and has been published in many countries including the US, France, Spain, Germany, Italy, Russia and China. His books have appeared on UK library award short-lists, the Federation of Children’s Book Groups Top Fifty lists, Puffin’s Guide to the Seventy Best Books for Children, Book Trust’s Best Books of the Year and have been adapted for radio, television and audiobook. ‘The Bunk-Bed Bus’ was chosen to appear on the first SATS (Standard Attainment Test) list in English schools, “Pirate Penguins’ was shortlisted for the first Telford Libraries Prize, ‘Doodle Dog’ was short-listed for the Nottinghamshire Libraries Award, ’The Witch’s Dog’ was chosen as one of the best books of the year by Book Trust, ’Mr Croc’s Clock’ was chosen as one of the Federation of Children’s Book Groups Top Fifty Books. ‘Eyetooth’ was adapted for audiobooks by the BBC, ‘The Intergalactic Kitchen’ was broadcast as a BBC children’s tv series and an animated tv series was produced based on his best-selling ‘The Witch’s Dog’ books.
