Wilhelm Friedemann Bach war ein deutscher Komponist aus der Familie Bach. Um das Leben des zwiespältigen Originalgenies im Sinne seiner Zeit legte sich bald nach seinem Tod ein Kranz romantischer Legenden. So werden ihm "sein roher Sinn, sein starrer Künstlerstolz, seine ungeheure Zerstreutheit und sein mürrisches zanksüchtiges Wesen, das im Trunke, dem er ergeben war, alle Rechte jeder Bürgerlichkeit und Ordnung verletzt" nachgesagt.
