One such mystery surrounds the now-extinct creature called the woolly mammoth. Michael Oard earned his master’s degree in atmospheric science in 1973 from the University of Washington. He was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service beginning in 1973 and lead forecaster in Great Falls, Montana from 1981 to 2001.
