One such mystery surrounds the now-extinct creature called the woolly mammoth. Author and meteorologist Michael Oard has studied the mammoth and its equally mysterious time period, the Ice Age, for many years and has come to some fascinating conclusions to help lift the fog engulfing the facts. Michael Oard earned his master’s degree in atmospheric science in 1973 from the University of Washington. He was a meteorologist with the National Weather Service beginning in 1973 and lead forecaster in Great Falls, Montana from 1981 to 2001.
