An old newspaper article reports that Florence died while competing in a chess tournament. The men she competed against were angry, especially when it seemed she might win—and she died under suspicious circumstances before she could triumph. Given her past adventures, Vivien is unsurprised when Florence's ghost needs her help to play one final game.
