Not much character development happens in this book and plotwise new characters were introduced but nothing note-worthy happens. It's still an entertaining read. One thing that bothers me too much is how the spells are so long. Are the enemies literally standing around like idiots when spells are being recited?

it's great I was worried the magic system would eventually start falling apart due to complexity but nope still doing great
