Gary Archer, who was born in the village of Rayne in Essex, studied electronics at Braintree College before going into a career in IT and becoming a Microsoft Certified Professional. It is 20 years since his first visit to the USA in 1992; he started with a holiday to Disney World in Florida and went on to explore much of the USA, visiting the Las Vegas area regularly from 1997 on with his partner Nuala, a skilled seamstress. Gary and Nuala, who was born in Dublin, are keen motor sport fans and have met many of the Indycar drivers. Both Gary and Nuala also love bikes, and Nuala used to run her own motorcycle training school.
