Elwin M Kline the III was born in 1986 in central Florida, where in his youth he actively participated in chess clubs, robotics teams, and played varsity football as an offensive lineman for his high school football team. While on track to being recruited to the collegiate level, Elwin sustained a devastating shoulder injury that immediately ended his football career.
After recovery and physical therapy, upon graduating High School he enlisted into the United States Army as a 25C, Radio-Operator Maintainer. During his 12 years of honorable military service, Elwin obtained the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7) and held a variety of roles such as:
· Telecommunications Operations Chief (25W)
· Platoon Sergeant for three (3) different organizations (Medical, Field Artillery, and Signal)
· Funeral Honors Lead for thirteen (13) ceremonies
· Special Operations Support (10th Special Forces Group)
· Department of the Army Select Recruiter
· Operation Iraqi Freedom 2007-2009
· Operation Enduring Freedom 2011-2012
Only a few years away from consideration for the Master Sergeant (E-8), Elwin was hit with yet again another crippling injury to his spine that made him non-deployable and unable to continue his career in the US Army.
Upon exiting military service, Elwin obtained both his BS Degree in Computer Networking and MS Degree in Cybersecurity, and holds nine (9) professional IT certifications from CompTIA, EC-Council, SANS, and (ISC)2.
Elwin professionally continues to support the United States and its people as a defense contractor, where he uses his mind to stay in the fight.
In his free time he enjoys being with his family, exercising, responsible gaming, playing pool, writing, and anything to do with the great outdoors.
