Geographers is an annual collection of studies on individuals who have made major contributions to the development of geography and geographical thought. Subjects are drawn from all periods and from all parts of the world, and include famous names as well as those less well known, including explorers, independent thinkers and scholars. Patrick H. Armstrong is Adjunct Associate Professor, Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. Patrick H. Armstrong taught Geography and Ecology at the University of Western Australia. He has written extensively on the life and work of Charles Darwin. Brought up in the university city of Cambridge, among Armstrong's earliest recollections was seeing Darwin's granddaughter painting pictures of the River Cam.

Geoffrey Martin is Distinguished Professor Emeritus (Geography)at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, and Archivist of the Association of American Geographers.
