About the author
Christoph M. Kimmich taught modern European and German history at Columbia University and at Brooklyn College and served as provost and president of Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. He is university professor in the doctoral program in history at the CUNY Graduate Center and has written widely on German foreign policy from 1918 to 1945.
