Encontramos en El Vagabundo la parábola "Vestiduras" que habla acerca de la fealdad y la belleza en el ser humano y cómo se confunden a una con otra. Asimismo encontramos "Canción de amor" que narra acerca de un poeta que escribe una canción de amor y lo envía a sus amistades y conocidos y una joven piensa que él está enamorado de ella y quiere presentar a sus padres y preparar la boda, pero el poeta le escribe diciendo que está confundida ya que -es un canto de amor que brota del corazón de un poeta, cantada por cualquier hombre para cualquier mujer- y ella, molesta, le llama hipócrita. En Ninfas del Valle se narran tres historias. "Marta", cuenta acerca de una joven que es engañada por un hombre que la abandona estando embarazada y cómo la muerte es su salvación, ya que la sociedad la marca por haber pecado.

Poet, philosopher and artist, Gibrán Jalil Gibrán was born in Lebanon in 1883, which is a land that has produced many poets whose fame and influence have spread beyond the Middle East. His poetry has been translated in more than 20 languages and his drawing and painting exhibitions have been held in the most important cities around the world. In the United States, which was his home for 20 years, he started writing in English. The Prophet and his other poetry titles, illustrated with his mystic drawings are highly recognized among countless Americans who seek in them an expression of the deepest desire of the heart and of the human mind. He died in 1931.
