THE GODS MUST BE FAVOURED...

Norway, AD 785
. A wild place, a place of blood, a place where the gods hold sway . . .

Sigurd Haraldarson
and his oathsworn band are winning fame and reputation. But to confront his hated enemy - the oath-breaker and betrayer King Gorm - they must win riches too.

When a daring raid goes wrong, Sigurd finds himself a prisoner of the powerful Jarl Guthrum. Bound like a slave, he is taken to the sacred temple at Ubsola to face the sacrificial knife.

But here Sigurd discovers a potent relic: Gungnir, a great spear that would give him the power to assemble a host strong enough to challenge King Gorm, and avenge the betrayal of his father and the murder of his family.
The roar of Odin and the wild hunt will be as nothing compared to Sigurd's rage, for he and his warriors will be borne on the wings of the storm . . .

Wings of the Storm
concludes the Viking saga, started in God of Vengeance and Winter's Fire.

3rd Book of Sigurd's adventures may be the Best of the Trilogy. Although whether that's because we're more "invested" in the Young Leader's Life, Or we've just begun to overlook the fierce young Viking Warlord's Age and Experience and the steadfast Loyalty of a boatload of Older - some Very Much Older ! - Men ! Men, btw, who take up the "Viking" Life to gain Wealth and Prestige - but mostly Wealth! Which will allow them to Return home without having to scratch & scrape a living as a Farmer or Tradesman! There's a bit too much YA style of "Go with the Flow" & "Things will Work out in the End!" - with the Main Character having "Learned that Valuable Lesson!" He had Previously ignored, to the detriment of Others and his Own Peril ! The "Victor" era of Youth literature - Comics! - possibly or Definitely left me Over-Cynical when it comes to the Young Readers Lit, so Don't Rely upon the ramblings of an Ol' Man! Read them & Decide for Yourself! Mostly, Just Enjoy reading Written words !👍!

About the author

Family history (he is half Norwegian) and a passion for the fiction of Bernard Cornwell inspired GILES KRISTIAN to write. Set in the Viking world, his bestselling 'Raven' and 'The Rise of Sigurd' trilogies have been acclaimed by his peers, reviewers and readers alike. In The Bleeding Land and Brothers' Fury, he tells the story of a family torn apart by the English Civil War. He also co-wrote Wilbur Smith's No.1 bestseller, Golden Lion. His contemporary survival thriller, Where Blood Runs Cold, won the Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize. With his Sunday Times bestseller Lancelot, Giles plunged into the rich waters of the Arthurian legend. His epic reimagining of our greatest island 'history' continued in Camelot and draws to a breath-taking close with Arthur.
Giles Kristian lives in Leicestershire.
