Okay this book started out pretty good. Had an interesting premise a lot of detail and then suddenly story logic just took a nose dive. We are told in order to save his life the hero must sign over control of his most valuable piece of property his spaceship in order to be released by the pirates. We are also expected to believe that out in the vastness of the Galaxy these pirates who he had met for the first time knew exactly what he owned and it's value. Once the hero is saved from the pirates we are then expected to believe that he is obligated for no reason given at all to turn his property over to the pirates even though free at the time. This is got to be about the dumbest piece of logic I have ever read in a science fiction story.

I read a lot of fiction......the descriptive narrative of future possible devices should not overshadow the story.......the writer has done an excellent job of being able to tell the story and describe how a situation or action was achieved without engineering degrees...I applaud you , and thank you for an acceptable triumph of good over evil.

Funny, exciting, all the things you want in a Space Opera. Aliens by the score, Earth Population thinking they are gods, only to be disappointed again.

Termination Shock is the first book in the Interstellar Enforcement Agency trilogy and the first book set in the Major Shells.

Gillian Andrews’ latest books are set in the Major Shells universe. There are two trilogies with an interquel in between. The first trilogy is the Interstellar Enforcement Agency (Termination Shock, Interdicted Space and Exceptional Point). These are followed by the interquel, Supershell Storm. Finally the Quantum Heritage trilogy (Slipstream Alley, Spectacular Error and The Last Bridge) finishes the Major Shells arc. She is also the author of the Ammonite Galaxy series and the standalone novel Kelfor, which loosely links both universes.
