It's 2:20am when I finish the last book of the Mancinkus family.I'm going to miss this series. The laid back atmosphere of the town of Whynot, North Carolina was the perfect mental destination answer for dealing with this covid situation. I really needed something to smile about and Sawyer Bennett delivered in spades. I think the townspeople are all deeply rooted to Whynot because they don't want to miss out on any opportunity of gossip they can aquire, by anyone who may have something to share.Information spreads faster here than high speed internet 😉, and everyone of them loves a juice morsel of info. When Deacon Locke first rolled into town on his Harley and caught the eye of the sweet Larkin Mancinkus, the sparks were already started between them.Where Deacon was firmly on the path of the wanderlust, Larkin was firmly rooted in her family and her town. Their relationship was the top gossip of the holiday season. I've shared enough to hopefully spark an I interest.Would love to see a family reunion story with info on Pap and his love interest, but I'm happy with what I've read. Thank you Sawyer Bennett for sharing your gift of writing. This series will be revisited by me again. 👍📚💕☕🍩🍪🥞🧇🥓🍕🥐🍰🥧🧁🍻☕🧋🎄🎯🎣👖🥾🛠🪚🏍

Well this book might just be the sweetest read of the Sex and Sweet Tea series so far. I blooming love those Mancinkus siblings, and I thing Juliette definitely left the best ‘til last. Larkin, the only single sibling left, the owner of Sweet Cakes Bakery, and part owner of Millie’s Bed and Breakfast, is single, for one reason, she’s been too busy working. Deacon Locke is a nomad, travelling the World and the States, never staying in one place too long, he goes where the work takes him, with only his trusted Harley and few belongings in his rucksack. He finds more than he bargained for when he came upon Whynot, North Carolina though, and for some reason he finds himself looking for reasons to stay. A truly sweet, fun, easy read. As opposite as Deacon and Larkin are, they are so well matched in every way, neither wanting to think too much about what they have found together. A perfectly imperfect match, lots of funny time, real laugh out loud moments, and a few emotional scenes. I loved catching up with the family, and I’m hoping we’ll have a spin off story somewhere along the line. I’m not quite ready to leave Whynot just yet. I received an advanced copy of this book from the author. This is my honest review.

5 Star Review of Gimme Some Sugar (Sex & Sweet Tea #5) by Juliette Poe This was a fun, quick read full of romance, laughter and love of family. This is Larkin Mancinkus and Deacon Locke’s story and I was captivated from the first to the last page. I really didn’t want to start this book as I believe this marks the end of the series which I have grown to love and yet once I started I couldn’t put it down. Larkin is the owner of Sweet Cakes Bakery in town and as such is privy to most of the goings on and gossip in the small town. Ms. Poe describes Whynot in such great detail that I would love to visit. I love the idea of a small town where everyone knows you, although I think it could become invasive, which is what happens to Larkin in Gimme Some Sugar. Deacon rides a Harley and is a free spirit, a wanderer, going wherever the road takes him, until he arrives in Whynot. Staying at the B & B that Larkin is part owner of, Deacon has never considered putting down roots until he meets Larkin. He is attracted to her even though they are total opposites, now all he has to do is convince her to go out with him. Larkin however is rather shy and has image issues and cannot understand why the hot biker would even look at her. Deacon is totally swoon worthy and the way he cares for Larkin sent shivers down my spine; he really fits into her family with his fun and easy going manner. It was wonderful to watch the romance blossom and Larkin become more confident; Deacon was the perfect man for her. I really love the dynamic of the Mancinkus family and I would love to be a member. The unconditional love and support that they give to one another makes for a heartwarming read that simply put, makes me smile. Will Larkin give Deacon a reason to finally put down roots? One click this little gem now and find out…
