Vidyalankar Vinayakrao Koratkar is an unsung hero of the liberation struggle of Hyderabad princely state. He played an important role in the freedom struggle of the state from 1938 to 1948 and then during the period from the unification of the state in free India to the linguistic bifurcation of the state in 1956. Vinayak Rao single-handedly led the Hyderabad state unit of Arya Samaj during the crucial period between 1933 to 1950. Arya Samaj played an important role in the freedom struggle of Hyderabad state. The fight of Vinayakrao against the Nizam government and his immense cooperation with the Government of India as head of the Pleaders Association of Hyderabad state made a significant contribution to the success of ‘Operation Polo’. An attempt is made here to present the biography of Vinayakrao to the young generation of India.

About the author

Girish Ghate is an author and poet and has penned five books to date. This is Mr. Ghat’s sixth book. Mr. Ghate is a postgraduate in Metallurgy and a businessman and promoter of two companies. Mr. Ghate is also a philanthropist and runs an NGO by the name Prabhakar Foundation. The organization is engaged in the field of education & development in the rural areas of Maharashtra.
