About this eBook

Discover Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries, an urban fantasy murder mystery series with a quirky witch, a serious detective, a slow burn romantic sub-plot, and plenty of murders to solve.

A clash with the Centre For Wand Control leads to more problems than Amy wants to handle.

Amethyst likes to do things her own way, even when that means being suspended by the Centre for Wand Control when she uses a material she shouldn't when making wands, ending up with her Grammie's wand making license being suspended.

But Amy is determined to put it right, even if she has to go toe to toe with the CWC and prove that sea glass isn't an unstable component of wands.

Can she get the suspension lifted?

Glass and sass is the prequel to the Amethyst's Wand Shop series. Amy has always wanted to join the Paranormal Police Dept and decides to apply. While waiting for a response she receives a letter from the Centre for Wand Control, she is in trouble and it puts her grandmother's Wand business in peril. Can Amy get to the bottom of this, plead her case and save the family business?. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have to say that I enjoy reading books that are mysteries with magical elements to them. This one hit all the right places in terms of being a book that I enjoyed. The world building was great and I got a good feel Amethyst and Grammie. I loved that Amy realizes that she made a mistake and wants to be able to fix it, while this was only a novella it was great to have a quick intro. Glass and Sass (An Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries Prequel) is a cute introduction to Amythest of the Gemston Coven. She is a witch who wants to become a paranormal cop/investigator and happens to be a phenomenal wandmaker. I saw more rebellion in her than sass, but that is just my perception. She is also witty, confident and knows her worth. Amethyst is quite likable. Grammie is also lovable even though she is not prominent in this story. Amethyst makes it clear that she is important to her. Grammie's character comes to life through Amethyst's sharing her thoughts about her. I read another book in the series and liked it, so I wanted to read the prequel to the series. In this book, Laura Greenwood and Arizona Tape do an excellent job of painting a world that we can almost see. The characters are not overly complex, which makes them believable. The storyline is not complicated, which would muddle the story's intent, which introduces us to the main character and gives us a background for future books in the Amethyst's Wand Shop Mysteries series. The book is a quick and easy read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
